When a player's hitbox is inside an armor stand, they can't place/break blocks, eat, or use ender pearls as right clicking will interact with the armor stand instead. Placing stacks of armor stands at the bottom of a trap and piston pushing a block over a players head (because if they can jump they can quickly right click) is an effective early game containment method.
