Trigger

  • Stone Pressure Plate

Unlike their wooden counterparts, stone pressure plates are activated only by mobs, players and armor stands.

  • Tripwire

If you are going to use this it needs to be at head height level (because if you view it straight on it's nearly invisible). In general this is a pretty bad trigger unless you need to cover a large area easily (extends up to 40 blocks of string).

  • Wooden Pressure Plate

Unlike stone pressure plates, ANY entity will cause a wooden pressure plate to trigger.

Funnel

  • 2x2 Diagonal Flatground

Pistons push up blocks to head height in a 2×2 diagonal pattern after being triggered which if timed correctly causes the pursuing player to fall into the 2×2 hold that is created.

  • 2x2 Trapdoor

Opens up a 2x2 flush hole at a set location. If your target is really dumb you can drop a valuable item on the 2x2 and then pull it when they run to get it.

Confinement

  • SMP Funnels

Designed by JudeLow this funnels are extremely hard to clutch on because they use clipped armor stands.

Containment

  • Armor Stand

When a player's hitbox is inside an armor stand, they can't place/break blocks, eat, or use ender pearls as right clicking will interact with the armor stand instead. Placing stacks of armor stands at the bottom of a trap and piston pushing a block over a players head (because if they can jump they can quickly right click) is an effective early game containment method.

  • Banner

Used in funnels to prevent clutching via block placing or water buckets (ignores crouch clicking with water buckets as well).

  • Honey Block

When you are standing either directly on a honey block or on a slab that is on a honey block player jump height is reduced from 1.25 blocks to about .1875 blocks (85% reduction). Additionally decreases player walk speed to about 2.5 m/s (60% reduction).

  • Sign

Makes it much harder to use pearls, eat, and clutch when falling down a trap. Additionally, signs can be place on each other as supports for sand/gravel traps. When the original supporting sign is broken all the other attached signs will also break (see attached image).

Kill Mechanism

  • Cheap Armor Stand Critout

Holds a player in place until they break all of the armor stands, also deals suffocation damage. Good if you want kill credit or against high geared players that will not die by dripstone. WARNING: Players with fire aspect swords or lunge spears can escape this critout. This critout is designed to be cheap and easy to build early game without a lot of minecarts.

  • Dripstone

Effectively doubles fall damage when landing on a dripstone (does not matter how big the dripstone is). When falling on a player after support block is removed: "the amount of damage is 1HP per pointed dripstone falling (less than 6 will be counted as 6) per each block of falling distance in Java Edition. The damage is capped at 40HP, no matter how far the stalactite falls. Wearing a helmet reduces the damage by 1/4, but this costs twice as much durability on the helmet as on other armor pieces." Note: Each heart of a player is 2 HP

  • Minecart

When over 24 minecarts are placed on the same block entity cramming damage is dealt to the player. Chest minecarts can be positioned at head height to prevent pearling and eating (any right click regardless of crouching opens the chest minecart GUI).

  • Railgun

A railgun shoot arrows at hypersonic speeds to one shot players. By loading arrows from an unenchanted, power 2, and power 4 bow the railgun will go through a double totem netherite player.

  • Unescapable Armor Stand Critout

This critout version is more expensive than the basic armor stand version because it uses minecarts. It is however resistant to fire aspect and the new spear escaping tech.
